Two brothers have launched verbal war against each other over undisclosed funds meant for logistics during the Sept. 19 governorship election in the State, prompting supporters of All Progressives (APC) and Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in the State ride roughshod, amidst speculation that Governor Godwin Obaseki has turned a side cheek.
Trouble started when one Mr. Smart on Tuesday, released a parody video, lamenting that his inability to meet up his financial obligations to his loyalists who worked for PDP in the last election.
The author of the video, Mr. Smart Obazee believe to be living in the United States (US), has captivated minds and divided opinions across party divides.
He alleged in the video which has gone viral in the internet that he and his teammate, worked for Governor Godwin Obaseki re-election, but, lamented that barely two weeks after his victory, they are yet to get their benefits.
But, PDP Chieftain in Ikpoba-Okha, Mr. Albert Obazee, responded spontaneously to the allegation and berated Smart for attempting to blackmail the Governor whose public appeal has continue to soar.
He, distanced himself from the trending video where Mr. Smart claimed to stacked his life for the peace of the State and described the well-rehearsed script as misleading does not reflect his views or the view of his family.
He also apologized to Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Nogjeghase Obaseki and pledged his loyalty to his government.
According to Albert, “I want to apologize to the Governor, his name was mentioned in the video. I am not surprise. Even when people say ‘Albert don’t do a video as it is a family affair’.
“No! This (Smart) is a mentally challenged man” whom he claimed to have severed his relationship with over the past six months”.
“I do not know what he expects me to do because he says Torgba. I have never been comfortable with his style even when he was in Nigeria”, Albert lamented.
Responding to the issues raised by Mr. Smart, an Italian-based Nigerian who identified himself as Ambassador Dada in a video, issued a stern warning to Mr. Smart to stop dragging prominent Edo sons into his travails.
Dada who recalled the sacrifices he has made towards peace in Edo State, warned Mr. Smart to stop playing on the intelligence of the people and urged him to take responsibility for lives and property.
Expectedly, some APC supporters have reacted to the acerbic narrative on social Media.
Mr. Nosa Omorodion and A socio-critic of Governor Godwin Obaseki wrote on his Facebook wall on Tuesday: “Imagine Albert Obazee’s brother who claims to be a cultist asking Obaseki to pay for services his cult rendered during election!”.
