The Nigeria police has reacted to the alleged shootout by suspected hoodlums in Saturday governorship election in Ologbo and Oza Communities in Ikpoba-Okha and Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Adeleye Oyebade, said that nobody was killed in the incident.

Oyebade who is in charge of Edo governorship election, deoppws the hint on Saturday in Benin, after inspecting the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office where the final collation of the governorship election.

He did not give details of the incident which was said to have disrupted voting in the areas.

But, he warned that nobody who violates electoral laws would be dealt with.

He noted that every security agency in the state under the banner of Inter Agencies Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) were all involved in the election security to ensure a free, fair and acceptable results at the end of the poll.
