The Peoples Democratic party (PDP) has challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Bola Tinubu to prove his innocence concerning allegation of vote-buying ahead of Saturday Governorship election in Edo State.

In the light of the above, the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Chris Nehikhare, on Thursday, accused the former Governor of Lagos State of money laundering via helicopters and private jets with ignoble motive to induce eligible voters in Edo State mobilize support for his political party.

Nehikhare who made the allegation while addressing the Press in Benin City, Edo State Capital where urged eligible voters in the State to re-elect the Candidate of PDP, Governor Godwin Obaseki and his running mate, Mr. Philip Shaibu.

“Come this Saturday, we urge our people to send a strong and unequivocal message to the Godfather in Lagos and his minions in our state that we are still the same people that fought off slave masters and charted a course for ourselves as the Midwestern Region”, he said.

The Publicity Secretary, also appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), election Observers and other stakeholders in the electoral process to take note of this move and ensure necessary actions are taken to avert the sinister plot to subvert the will of Edo people.

He urged the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to sanction the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) if the management of the Organization interrupt electricity supply at the various collation centres in the State.

According to him, “We also want to use this medium to call on the National Electricity Regulatory Company (NERC) to sanction Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), if they go ahead with orders issued by the management, which is in bed with the APC, to cut off power supply to the collation centres across the state at critical times on Saturday, September 19, with a view to compromise the election.

“We are alerting BEDC and its management that we are aware of their plot and Edo people would vehemently resist the role of cooperates in attempting to undermine their will in this election”, he said.

In their separate reactions, the State Publicity Secretary of APC, Mr. Chris Azebamwan, and Head, Public Affairs, BEDC, Mr. Tayo Adekunle, described PDP allegations as a wise goose chase, unfounded and baseless.

Azebamwan, said, “Their allegation simply illustrate how desperate how PDP is by engaging in a negative propaganda because it has no manifesto to sell to Edo people. Therefore, the allegation should be discountenance”.

According to Mr. Adekunle, “It is a cheap blackmail. BEDC is a private business. Our product, cuts across party divide. We denounce. the allegation in its entirety”.
