Obaseki approves 50 hectares for palm oil production, assures completion of education projects


*Obi says Nigerians are proud of Obaseki achievements

The Candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) for the September 19, 2020 Governorship election in Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has approved 50 hectares of farmland for palm oil production in the State.


He disclosed this on Tuesday at a Campaign rally in Abiokunla Ward 1 Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the State where he said the project would be sited.

The parcel of land was lease to three new companies coming from Asia to boost the gross domestic product of the State and employment of indigenes of the State.

According to the Governor, “For agriculture, we have just started. I have approved 50 hectares of farmland to three new companies from Asia for palm oil production”.

He promised to restore Orhionmwon back to its original state as the food basket of Edo State, build more infrastructure, ensure the completion of the College of Education and modern training schools in the locality.

The PDP Candidate declared that his passion for development of education started way back when his great grand parents established the first Memorial school in Abudu, more than 75 years ago.

On his part, Mr. Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and running mate to the Presidential Candidate of PDP during the 2019 General election in Nigeria, urged eligible voters in the State to re-elect the Candidate of PDP.

He revealed that Nigerians across the State are proud of the achievements of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Obi said, “we do not want people who make promises that they cannot keep.

“Your Governor is doing well. You must do everything to make sure that he comes back. Those of us outside Edo State are proud of him”, he said.

The Duke (Enogie) of Evbuobanosa Community in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, His Royal Highness, Professor Gregory Akenzua, prayed for a peaceful election in Edo State had played host to members of PDP Campaign Council in the State.

Akenzua who spoke on behalf of the traditional rulers and Chiefs in Orhionmwon, prayed God and the ancestors to avert bloodshed before, during and after the September 19, 2020 election.

He also prayed God Almighty lead the incumbent Governor to victory at the poll.
