Women in Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State have given reasons for supporting the re-election of Governor Godwin Obaseki, Candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) for the September 19, 2020 election in Edo State, citing gender friendly disposition of the administration and commitment towards good governance of the State.

The decision of the women was conveyed in a statement from the Public Affairs and Communication Department, office of the State Deputy Governor and endorsed by Mr. Razak Zekeri at the Weekend in Benin City.

Addressing the women at a sensitization tour of the locality, Wife of the State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Maryann Philip Shaibu, urged the women to vote for PDP in order to secure their future and better life for their Children.

She enumerated the achievements of the Governor Obaseki-led administration over the past three and half years, sued for unity among women in order to advance their interest and development of the State.

Mrs. Philip Shaibu, tasked them to reciprocate the good gesture of the administration and good governance by voting for PDP in the forthcoming election

According to her, “women in the State have felt the impact of PDP-led Government in Edo State”.

The First Lady of the State, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, is expected to lead the women’s wing of PDP campaign Council on Tuesday October 1, 2020.
