The traditional ruler of Opoji Kingdom in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State, Zaiki Ehidiamen Aidonojie 1 on Saturday displayed his brotherly affection towards the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) for the September 19, 2020 Governorship election in Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki.

He admitted however that the former national Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, is his friend, and appealed to the Governor to prevail some individuals to stop calling him “Oshiomhole’s man”.
Ehidiamen who is the second Vice Chairman of Traditional rulers Council of Chiefs in Edo State, made the submission when PDP Campaign Council in the State paid him a courtesy visit at his palace on Saturday.
“Like you said, we are very close. You are my brother. He (Oshiomhole) is my friend.
“I urge you not to believe what they are saying about me…Oshiomhole is not my brother, but a friend”, he said.
Continuing, “I have not been part of thuggery or violence and I will not”, the traditional ruler said.
He also drew Governor Obaseki attention to deplorable roads in the area and praised the Government effort since the past four years despite limited resources.
Earlier in a remark, the PDP Candidate, Governor Godwin Obaseki urged Ehidiamen to help him to promote peace in his domain.
He also promised to mobilise contractors to begin the construction of Opoji-Ugbegun road and attract more development to the locality if he is re-elected for a second term in office.
According to him, “I want to plead with to help us with peace in Opoji.
“We want to plead with you to appeal to your people for us to have a peaceful election in Edo State”.
