Mr Andrew Momodu, former aide to the former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole has pledged the sum of N5 million (Five Million Naira) to support the re-election of Governor Godwin Obaseki, Candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in the September 19, 2020 Governorship election in the State.
Momodu made the pledge on behalf of Anwan Progressives Union (APU) on Tuesday at the State PDP Governorship Campaign at Ward 8 in Anwan Community, Etsako West Local Government Area of the State where three APC leaders defected to PDP.
He assured the incumbent Governor that 6000 votes from the Community would be cast for PDP in the forthcoming poll for attracting development to the area particularly, the ongoing Agbede-Anwan road construction has stretched the patience of the rural dwellers beyond breaking point.
Addressing PDP members and supporters from both Anwan and Idegun, Governor Godwin Obaseki, promised to reciprocate the kindness that was displayed by the people by prioritising healthcare, Education and agriculture in the second term of his administration if re-relected.
He recalled the sterling qualities of the famous Alhaji Jah Osman who hailed from Anwan and assured that Agbede-Anwan road construction work with was suspended by the expatriate over COVID-19 pandemic, would be completed soon.
“Since I started these campaign, this is the only place where indigenes money to support my campaign. I am very grateful”, he said.
Two traditional rulers in the Area endorsed the PDP Governorship Candidate for a second term in office.
They are His Royal Highness Mufutairu, the Erama of Idegun Clan and His Royal Highness, Zaiki Abulimen Idojerie II of Ewora Clan.
According to Idejiore, “He (Obaseki) has done it before and we are still going to do it again. He is the only Governor who has remembered us. You do not need to talk much. We are for you. We are ready to follow you”, he said.
