The Nigerian Government has cancelled the resumption of schools for graduating classes.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu disclosed this while fielding questions from State House Correspondents the Weekly Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday in Abuja.
The Government had earlier announced August 5, 2020 as scheduled date for WAEC examinations.
Adamu also disclosed that 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, has been postponed indefinitely to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease in the Country.
Adamu also explained that Nigerian schools will not reopen any time soon until it is safe to do so.
According to the minister, he would prefer Nigerian students lose an academic year than to expose them to deadly epidemic.
