Dr Michael Obasuyi, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic party in Edo State has roared at promoters of hate speech against governor Godwin Obaseki’s re-election after a slack-jawed of failed attempts to stop him.

Obasuyi disclosed this in a Press release issued on Monday in Benin City, the State Capital.

He clarified that a widely online video linking the National Vice Chairman, South South of the party, Chief Dan Orbih attempting to vilify the Governor erupted the social media space.

According to Obasuyi, whatever misgiving promoters of video had been overtaken by events because it wasn’t targeted at the Governor, but the All Progressives Congress.

Giving his assessment of the realities of a pared-down 2020 Governorship campaign season, under the shadow of Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the PDP Chieftain, said the election would be historic.

Obasuyi who disagreed on a whole host of issues in the Press release, predicted that Obaseki would be returned elected in the September 19, 2020 Governorship election in the State.

He cited Obaseki’s Government policies that have helped in bringing sanity to the corridor of power particularly in tax collection which has been replaced tauting, Community Development Association (CDA).

He also listed other areas of intervention to include Education, prompt payment of workers salaries, and training of 10, 000 public primary and Secondary Schools teachers under Edobest programme.

He also condemned attempts by the supporters of APC in the State to blackmail the Governor who recently defected from APC to PDP.

“Statements he made about the Governor were Statements directed to the APC, not Obaseki.

“The Governor has done well, for once the State now experience Law and Order, Development, sense of responsibility; Teachers are now smiling, Agberos (thugs) have gone into hiding, more roads have been constructed than the other administrations.

“Many people have been employed by Obaseki’s Government. Farmers are happy. Education has been reformed despite the distractions here and there.

“My belief that his Second Term will be greater, became there ll be no distractions then”.

“Pastor Ize-Iyamu is already in purgatory, we just pity him, he let Oshiomhole use him as bait, now that he (Oshiomhole) failed to capture the hearts of the electorate with his bait, which has become a thrash”, he said.
