The Vice Chairman of Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, Maurine Osaro Ekhoragbon has resigned from her position.
She cited administrative, political and Governance grounds as reasons for her resignation on Wednesday morning.
Recall that the State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Paul Ohonbamu, had resigned his position last Week Thursday, barely two months after Mr Taiwo Akerele, the Chief of Staff to Governor Obaseki resigned from the cabinet.
In her resignation letter which was dated and addressed to the Legislative Chamber of the Local Government Area, Ekhoragbon, thanked the State Governor and the party for given her the opportunity to serve.
She also thanked the people of the locality for their immense cooperation and support throughout the period.
Part of the letter reads: “please accept my letter as my formal resignation from my position as Vice Chairman of Ovia North East Local Government Area, Okada, Edo State.
“I tender my resignation based on Administrative, political, and Governance grounds, which are inextricably connected”.
An Official of the Local Government, also confirmed Maurine Osaro Ekhoragbon to our Correspondent via the telephone on Wednesday.
“Yes, she resigned this morning”.
Media reports have been focused on the incumbent Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki following the bad tempered exchanges between him and his predecessor and national Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole over attempt by the later to thwart the re-election bid of the later who is fighting the political battle of his life.
