A middle-aged man simply as Edafe was on Thursday struck to death by thunder in Benin City.

The incident occurred near the popular Cattle Market in Asoro Hill, Ekehuan Road in Benin City.
The victim was said to be working at a building site during the rain with his co-workers were taking refuge at uncompleted building when tragedy struck.
Leftist Osazee Edigin, Public Relations Officer, Edo Civil Society Organisations shared the labourer (Edafe) photographs on social Media on Thursday afternoon.
He said the lightening that preceded the thunder that killed Edafe, displaced other workers as it stroke leaving Edafe dead immediately.
“As the time of this report, Nigeria police officers have not been contacted to evacuate the corpse”, he said.
The sad incident has sent jitters into the spines of residents in the area.
Sources said that the family of the decease may be required to invite worshippers of Africa Traditional Religion (ATR) for sanctification before the corpse will be interred.
