A clinically tested Ventilator manufactured by a team of Researchers in the Faculties of Engineering and Medical Sciences, University of Benin (UNIBEN) has been presented to the Management of the Institution.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Dr Benedicta Ehanire on Tuesday, said that the invention was in response to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lilian Salami’s challenge to the various experts in the University to continue to strive to make relevant marks in order to place the Institution among the very best and rank among the world class pedestal.

Leader of the research team, Prof. Kissington Obahiagbon, explained that the group known as Covid-19 initiative, took into consideration, the peculiar circumstances in the Country, hence the ventilator is produced to work without electricity for at least one hour.

The University don stressed that it is so designed to function i n a dual mode for adults and Children.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Lilian Salami, thanked the research team for the feat, especially for looking inwards in efforts to seek solution to the Coronavirus pandemic.
