The Commonwealth Medical Association (CWMA) has given the Management of University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) a thumb up in the treatment of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

President of the association, Dr Osahon Enabulele who disclosed this when other members of he association on a guided tour of facilities at the hospital on Friday in Benin City where he canvassed Edo State and Federal Government support.
He commended UBTH management headship of the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Darlington Obaseki and the health workers on the frontline of the pandemic for showing high-level of commitment, resilience and patriotism despite limited resources during the health crisis that is ravaging the world.
While commending the Management of the Hospital for work done so far, Dr. Enabulele encouraged the hospital management team for sustaining the good work, Dr Enabulele, reiterated the need for Knowledge sharing among medical personnel towards boosting medical expertise for improve healthcare delivery.
He promised to support the hospital in his official capacity adding that the association is also thinking of how to stabilize the health systems of member states even in the post COVID-19 era

The president of the association who was conducted round UBTH by the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Darlington Obaseki and other Management Staff, inspected the Isolation Centre including the holding Ward, the 2 bedded Intensive Care Unit with dedicated Ventilators, the PCR Laboratory (where COVID-19 tests are to be carried out) amongst other places relevant in the management of COVID-19.
TheNewspad reports that the visit by the team to the hospital was part of the Commonwealth Medical Association’s obligation to assess the preparedness of tertiary health institutions across the 54 member Countries in combating COVID-19 as well as show the association’s commitment to support government in eradicating infectious diseases like Covid-19.
