Edo rural dwellers benefit from medical mission

Succour has come to over 300 rural dwellers in Urhonigbe Community, Orhionmwon Council Area of Edo State, with 300 people accessing free medical healthcare by Edo National Association Worldwide, ENAW.

A CROSS SESSION OF BENEFICIARIES AT THE MEDICA OUTREACH IN URHONIGBE COMMUNITY

Food items including toiletries, and drugs that cost a fortune were dispensed free of charge by a team of health personnel during the medical outreach by the group.

Speaking to newsmen at Urhonigbe Health Centre, venue of the medical mission, spokesperson of the group, Mercy Grant, said they were in Urhonigbe as part of their annual humanitarian activities towards remembering extremely poor people who cannot afford to pay for medical treatment.

According to her, “we decided to come here as part of what we do, we were here 2018 and this year 2020 we are here again to give medical advise, prescription, brushes for tooth, eye glasses and offer treatment to our people in this Community. You can see, we have attended to over three hundred persons today.

“Normally, when we come for ENAW medical mission like this we cover every villages/communities in Edo state reason being that, the association is a body that house every Edo Sons and Daughters leaving the Canada and the United states of America.

“We put this together for the betterment of our people leaving home here in Edo State Nigeria and today is the turn of Urhonigbe Community which is hosted by one of our member who is the President of Urhonigbe Association of Nigeria, Mr Charles Odiase”, he said.

Some benefices of the gesture, Mr Uhunamure Enoghama and Mr Jonathan Ediaya, expressed delight for the act of philanthropy and sued for its sustenance.

The team was led to the palace of the Okaevbo (Head) of Urhonigbe, Mr George Ogbeiwe who was represented by Mr Charles Odiase had briefed him of the Association mission to the Community.

He explained that the medical mission was a celebrate intervention towards meeting the health needs of the rural people.

Mr Odiase noted that Urhonigbe being an integra part of the State will always benefit from the humanitarian gesture of the association at all time.
