Edo State Director of Public Prosecution, Mrs Etinosa Adekanmbi has recovered 778 files from the unprecedented wildfire that occurred at Edo Property Development Authority (EDPA) complex on December 22nd 2019.

She disclosed this when a Private Investigator and Philanthropist, Alfred Kissinger presented a multi-functional industrial photocopy machine to the organization in Benin City, Edo State Capital.
Adekanmbi, said the files were pending cases at the State High court excluding case files at the court of Appeal and other courts that were destroyed in the complex, housing DPP offices near the popular Ekiosa market in Benin.
She also said DPP has made a requisition for fire proof cabinets, adding that all case files henceforth will not be duplicated to mitigate future disaster.

According to her, “we have no clue about case files dates backs to Bendel State of the and concluded cases are gone.
“The fire disaster happened unexpectedly with primeval fear”, she lamented.
In a brief remark, the Private Investigator, Alfred Kissinger, said the gesture became imperative due to the stress DPP Staff have gone through in cause of discharging their duties since the fire incident which left a deep psychological scars on them.

He lamented the plight of awaiting trial inmates whose case files may have been destroyed by the fire, leading to unnecessary adjournment in courts.
Kissinger urged other philanthropic organisations to donate generously towards a just society.
On their part, the State Deputy Director of DPP, Mrs Stella Okojie and Assistant Director of DPP, Mr Peter Ojo, appreciated the donor for his act of philanthropy and promised judicious use of the equipment.
Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Benin branch, Mr Pius Oiwoh and other Officials of DPP witnessed the Ceremony.
