UNIBEN declares Feb 14 lecture-free day for students

Authorities of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) in Edo State have declared Friday February 14, lecture-free day for students.

In a statement issued by the school’s Public Relations Officer (PRO),  Dr. (Mrs.) Benedicta  Ehanire said on Thursday.

She explained that the development is to “enable students participate in the Students’ Union election billed for February 14th, 2020”.

The date coincide with Saint Valentine Day when lovers express their affection with greetings and gifts.

LIST OF THE CONTESTANTS FOR THE POST OF SUG PRESIDENT

The statement further advised students to only engage in legitimate activities during the polls.

Six students are  reportedly contesting for the post of the President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG).

TheNewspad reports that the University is already agog ahead of the election where thousands of regular students are expected to cast their ballot.
