Rotary donates 26 paraplegic climbers to people living with disabilities

Rotary Club of New Benin district 9141 on Thursday donated over 26 paraplegic climbers to people living with disabilities in Edo State.

The items comprise wheel-chairs, clutches, walking sticks were presented by the president of the district, Magdalene Odigie.

In a brief remark, Odigie said, “this gesture is part of Rotary Club humanitarian services. It is to help them in their daily activities.

“Most of them cannot afford them so we decided to help them in providing support,” she said. 

Mr Ebose Henry, the Chairman, State chapter of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) commended the club for the gesture, adding that the items would enable the beneficiaries move with easy. 

“l appreciate this assistance from the Rotary Club of New Benin branch. The items will easy movement from one place  to another,” he said.

Henry, however,  appeal to government  and other philanthropists to emulate the gesture to make life easier for the  physically challenged persons in the State.
