A block of flats in an army barracks, Effurun, near Warri in Delta State has been razed by a strange fire.

No casualty was recorded during the incident which occurred at about 2:30 am Tuesday, January 21, 2020.

The building, comprising a block of 12 self-contained apartments, according to sources.

“As at 9:10 am today, the cause of the inferno was unknown and inhabitants of the barracks were prevented from any visual recording of the affected building.

The source hinted that before the Fire Service got to the scene, the entire building had been completely burnt while household properties worth millions of naira destroyed.

Army authorities are yet to react to the incident as at the time of filing g this report.
