DPO summoned over alleged ‘rape of teacher in Ogun

A Divisional Police Officer in charge of Itele Ota in Ogun State (name withheld) has been summoned in connection with alleged rape of a Biology a teacher in the State by his five female students.

The Spokesman for the Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi told TheNewspad that the DPO had already responded to his summon before it was later discovered the incident did not happen.

‘I have to summon the DPO of Itele Ota where they claimed the incident happened. He came to the Command and said the report was false.

‘It is a lie, there was no incident of such. You know that in this era of social media, some people will sit down and begin to write and circulate information that is not true”, he said.

The scandal, was widely reported in the mainstream and social media last Thursday, prompting police to swing into investigation.

The Police Spokesman however did not give further details if any suspect has been arrested for raising false alarm on the incident.
