Worshippers chant holy ghost fire as church goes aflame in Delta

Bewildered worshippers at the Charismatic Renewal Ministries Inc. (CRM), also known as Transformation Faith Centre chanted holy fire during Sunday when a portion of the building housing the church went up in flames.

The church, located at No. 35, Biosa Amantu Street, off Jesus Saves road, Oshimili South Local Government Area of the State.

The fire allegedly destroyed some documents while the surging heat created commotion in the church hall.

Some worshippers scampered to safety while others fled threw the widows of the church during the incident.

The strange fire, according to Daily Trust, broke out in one of the rooms in the Church complex where a phone was plugged and kept on top of a mattress.

A witness said that the situation would have been grave but for the swift intervention of the State’s fire service.

In his reaction, the spate of fire incidents in Asaba, the State’s Commissioner of Environment, Chris Onogba, advised residents in the State to be conscious of safety at all times to mitigate disaster.

He said his ministry had embarked on aggressive public awareness and media campaign on the dangers of igniting combustible elements in this fire-prone season.
