Edo APC vows to resist hostile takeover of structure

**The Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday vowed to resist any forceful takeover of the party structure in Edo State.

The State factional chairman of the party, Mr Aselm Ojezua said this during the inauguration of 39-member mobilization Committee of APC at the party Secretariat on Friday in Benin City.

He cautioned the Committee against persons with questionable status in the party in the discharge of its duties.

According to him, “there is a clear difference. But your work is what we now indicate the real difference. By the time you finish your work and you are your assignment succeeds

“We do not want people outside Edo or people of questionable status in our party. That is the reason why er say this while be is different.

“Secondly, there is a clear different between membership drive and invitation of a mercenary group to come and do a hostile takeover of the party as if these structure that we have put in place is not a super structure. So, there is a clear difference. But your work is what we now indicate the real difference.

“By the time you finish your work and you are your assignment succeeds, I think Nigeria will know that APC in Edo is as strong as it can ever be and that no sinister group no matter how highly placed that can change the situate as far as Edo State is concerned.

The Committee whose membership of the Committee, were drawn across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State, has four terms of references including identification of membership drive, interaction with notable persons of substance across the State who have showed genuine interest to join APC.

The Committee is also to saddled with the responsibility of developing a programme of action to receive members across all levels of engagement from the Ward, Local Governing and State levels and do all that is necessary to achieve the objectives for which the Committee was set up.

Responding, the Chairman of State mobilization Committee of APC, Mr Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, promised not to depose the confidence reposed in Committee to serve.
