The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has convicted 84 Nigerians for corruption.

The Commission which did not give the names of the individuals, said it recovered a total of N217, 268, 236 and forfeiture of property, houses and vessels in Benin Zonal office, comprising Edo, Delta and Ondo States in the past one year.
Head, Benin Zonal office of EFCC, Mr Muhtar Bello made the remark in
at the 2019 World Anti-corruption Day on Monday in Benin City, Edo State Capital.
He urged members, leaders of the various interest groups including trade unions, Civil Society Organizations and professional bodies to facilitate mass education, mobilization and active participation of Nigerians in the fight against corruption.
“We salute those who are willing to stand up and be counted in the fight against corruption. Our promise to you is that we remain resolute a DJ determined to defeat corruption in our Country.
According to him, The theme for this year’s Celebration is “United against Corruption and the sub-theme, ” Zero tolerance for Corruption”, which underscores the need for Nigerians to come together and collectively raise awareness on the ills of Corruption”.
