Abduction of Resident Doctors’ President brews tension in Delta

The reported abduction of President of the Association of Resident Doctors, Delta State University Teaching Hospital, DELSUTH, Dr. Jerry Isogun, is brewing tension in the State.

Isogun was allegedly abducted by the hoodlums on Wednesday night while on his way to Sapele.

He was abducted within the Oghara-Mosogar/Sapele road, along the Benin highway in Ethiope-West Local Government, according to Daily Post.

It is not clear if the gunmen has contacted the victim’s family to negotiate a ransom for his release.

But, the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, DELSUTH, is yet to make any official statement on the abduction of the medical doctor.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Adeyinka Adeleke confirmed the report.

CP Adeleke said, “The man’s mother called her and as they were speaking, she suddenly heard him begging some people.

“We don’t know the exact location where the incident happened. The mother said he was going to Sapele.

“So, we suspect the incident happened between Oghara and Sapele. We have been tracking his number. Some people called demanding for money but we don’t know the location where it happened”, he said.
