A pressure group, Niger Delta People Confederation (NDPC) has appealed to president Muhammadu Buhari not to delay the swearing in nominees of the board.

The Coordinator General of the group, Mr. Iyamu Osaro Culture and the Secretary, Mr. Ovie Kenneth in a joint statement at the Weekend in Benin, said the action would help to correct the trajectory of shoddy or uncompleted projects, sad tales of disappointment and dashed hopes of the past in the Commission.

Recall that the Senate on Tuesday last Week, cleared the 16-member board on NDDC, rendering the 3-member Committee that was set up by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio null and void.

It said the move would enable the new board clean the mess inherited from past administration reposition it on the path of progress and prevent it from seeking into irrelevance.

“To this end, the want to call on President Buhari to immediately inaugurate the new board having been confirmed by the Senate”, the group said.
