A Lagos-based house wife, has reportedly stabbed her husband to death their one-year-old daughter’s Birthday expenditure.
The sad incident which threw the neighbourhood into a mourning mood, occurred on Tuesday at Surulere area in Lagos State, Vanguard reports.
The suspect, Stella Peter, 23, had requested for money from the deceased, Bala Haruna , 25, to buy ingredients, in preparation of their child’s birthday billed for Wednesday.
A fight reportedly broke out between the suspected murder and her Late Haruna who in turn entreated his wife to also contribute towards the celebration.
It was gathered that the suspect was said to have rushed into the kitchen, and brought out a knife, with which she allegedly stabbed her husband in the back.
But for the prompt intervention of policemen attached Surulere division, the tragedy would have resorted for a free-for-all.
Spokesman of the Nigeria police, Lagos Command, Mr DSP Bala Elkana who confirmed the incident, said the suspect and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Yaba.
