Gunmen attack gov Ishaku’s hometown, Takum

The hometown of Taraba State governor, Darius Ishaku’s hometown, Takum has been attacked by gunmen. The Punch reports that gunmen invaded the town on Sunday morning while most residents were yet to return to church. A resident of the town told our Correspondent there was heavy gunshots around Angwan Mbakpa, as residents ran for safety.

Efforts to get the Caretaker chairman of Takum, Mr Shiban Tikari, proved abortive as his phone rang out.

Police Public Relations Officer, ASP David Misal, is yet to respond to enquiries sent to his phone line as at the time of filing this report.
