“I would like to see Mr Geoffrey Onyeama because his father freed me in 1953 when I was charged before him.

He (Dandy Onyeama) was a magistrate in Benin for conduct likely to cause a breach of peace for disturbing the political meeting of Chief Obafemi Awolowo in Benin.

“Eight of us were arraigned before the magistrate.

“First, we were charged before Chief magistrate Sowemimon. When Showemimon was transferred to Sapele in Delta State, Daddy Onyeama was brought to Benin. He took up the case.
