17-year-old Taga, was paraded at the police headquarters in Benin, four days after Mbasenengen was delivered of a baby girl in Makurdi.

Kurugh said, “At 1:00am, she was moved out of the General Hospital and straight away into the theatre; on arrival at the Foundation hospital and in less than an hour, Masenengen was delivered of a baby girl weighing 2:5 kg through caesarean section”.

The State Police Commissioner, Mr Garba Mukaddas said the teenage father has admitted responsibility for Mbasengen Targba’s pregnancy and the newborn baby.

10-YEAR-OLD MOTHER, MBASENENGEN TARGBA

Garba, said the suspect had also told the police that he only slept with the 10-year-old twice.

He said the suspect will be charged to court when investigation completed.

During an interview with the suspect, Taga, admitted to the crime and insisted he got her pregnant after having a sexual intercourse with her twice.

“Yes I slept with Masenengen twice in December last year with her consent, I did not rape her,” Taga lamented.

TheNewspad Newspaper, on Monday reported that a concerned Nigerian, Mr Ukan Kuruga who learnt about the incident, rushed to the hospital by a kind-hearted people who sought her transfer to the Foundation Hospital in Makurdi.
