The Universal Basic Board in Edo State, has expressed sadness over the the death of 13-year-old pupil who was swept away by flood, following a heavy downpour recently.
Egbadon Overcome who was a primary 3 pupil of the Idumu Ague Primary School in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

Eyewitnesses said the area was flooded as a result of the rain.
The deceased’s body was recovered by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps.
The Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Joan Oviawe, said she had deployed field officers in a statement that the area to unravel the circumstances of the pupil’s death.
She stated, “The Edo State Universal Basic Education Board regrets to announce the unfortunate death of Egbadon Overcome, a 13-year-old primary 3 pupil of the Idumu Ague Primary School in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State.
“We commiserate with the child’s parents, the management of the Idumu Ague Primary School and the community over the sad incident. We will ensure that the incident is thoroughly investigated and work towards ensuring that such does not happen in the future,”the statement said.
