NUJ frowns at Obaseki, Oshiomhole’s feud

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, has frowned at the unending crisis between Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

In a joint statement signed by Edo State Chairman of the Council, Comrade Roland Osakue and Secretary, Comrade Titus Akhigbe on Wednesday, stressed that the current differences between the members of APC in the State “cannot be settled with bashes in the Media, but, on a round table”.

The duo, appealed to Stakeholders and opinion moulders in the polity and well-meaning individuals in the State including the Oba of Benin, HRM Oba Ewuare II to seek ways of ending the crisis in the interest of peace and development.

EDO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

The statement called on the actors in the crisis to sheath their swords and toe the oath of peace, adding that: “The NUJ vigorously fought for the Democracy which we all enjoy today and no one, no matter how highly placed will be allowed to truncate it.”
