Senator Elisha Abbo, representing Adamawa North Senatorial district has apologized for assaulting a woman in a sex toy shop on Tuesday in Abuja.

He made the apology at a Media briefing on Wednesday, following a video footage captured him assaulting woman simply identified as Barbra, went viral in the internet.

Senator Abbo said he regretted his actions and apologized to his victim and her family as well as all Nigerians.

”I personally apologize to Barbra and her family for my actions. No matter what you did to me, you did not deserve such treatment,” he said.

Senator Abbo is youngest Senator in the 9th National Assembly, who was spotted in 10-minute video footage repeatedly slapping a woman after she pleaded with him not to physically assault the shop owner.

The Inspector-General of police, Mr Adamu Mohammed, Amnesty International, the Senate, Nigerians and other pressure groups have demanded for the probe of the Peoples Democratic Party lawmaker.
