A pregnant woman and 114 other graduands from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Benin (UNIBEN) have been inducted into the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN). A pregnant woman and 114 other graduands from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Benin (UNIBEN) have been inducted into the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
The Registrar of the Council, Pharm. Mohammed Elijah led the 2017/2018 graduands at the 43rd Pharmacist’s oath-taking Ceremony held on Saturday at the indoor sports Complex at Ugbowo Campus of the Institution.

The graduand (name withheld) was a cynosure of participants who got inspired by her courage.

Chigozie Ezewanchinemelu bagged the undisclosed cash award for the best graduating student for the 2017/2018 academic session while Miss Oghenekevbre, became the 500 level UNIBEN prize winner of National Agency for Food Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) award.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, charged the graduands to be good ambassadors of the School.
Orumwense who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Ekehuan Campus), Prof. John Abolagba, tasked them to identity with the Institution’s mandate for greater and beneficial outcome.
He paid tributes to five retired Academic who were honoured as outstanding contributions towards the growth and advancement of Pharmacy in Nigeria.
Among them is Professor Adewole Sunday Adewusi from the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, UNIBEN.
In his brief during the presentation of the award to Adewusi also know as Grandfather, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, described him as his all round scholar and mentor.
The Register of the University of Benin, Dr. (Mrs) Otasowie Oshodin and other Principal Officers of the Ivory tower witnessed the colourful Ceremony.
