A religious based organization, ‘Heritage Assembly’, has reported journalists facing different challenges in the matrimonial homes to God.

The Pastor Mike Addo of Heritage Assembly church, made the intercession at the third quarterly launch break with members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council.

He also prayed for financial bliss and divine for media practitioners and charged them to use their various tabloids to defend the nation from “evil doers.

Addo who described journalists as the conscience of the society, lamented however that religious leaders are failing in their responsibility.

“I have stayed at the pulpit for more than 30 years, and In can tell you authoritatively that the pulpit is failing”, he said.

He revealed that journalists play a sensitive roles as watchdog of the society, hence the practitioners shouldn’t allow themselves to be a tool in the hands of corrupt politicians.

According to him, ” when the journalist sleeps, the society goes to bed too. So, when you pick up your pen to write, what comes into your mind? Are you thinking of what you are going to get or a void in society to fill?”.

He Cited the Bible book of Psalms 127 verse 1-3 as a footnote in his exaltation along with Ezekiel Chapter which says, “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none”, to illustrate his expression.
