The State Secretary of All Progressives Congress, Henry Okah and a Benin palace Chief, Osaro Idah have escaped expulsion from the party over alleged financial impropriety.

The duo who were named as actors in the scam, recently appeared and testified before the probe panel.
The panel of enquiry was raised to among others, investigate alleged corruption and mismanagement of party funds for the 2019 general elections in the State.

NEWSPAD learnt that the two party leaders denied any wrong doing when they appeared before the panel headed by Martins Osakue who is a Board of Trustee member of Association of Private Schools Owners, APSON.
A former member of the State House of Assembly, Mrs Elizabeth Ighodaro, the SUBEB representative for Edo South Senatorial District, who also testified before the probe panel, denied knowledge of any contract awarded to Lawrence Okah or Chief Osaro Idah as alleged by those sponsored by Godwin Obaseki.
She revealed l that before coming on board, contract awarding had been carried out, and thus, she has no knowledge of either of the two persons being awarded contracts by SUBEB or guilty of any misdeeds.
Furthermore, Chief Osaro Idah, in his own testimony, explained that the funds he recieve from Governor Godwin Obaseki for election purposes was subsequently passed on to Mr Godswill Alabi, the APC chairman of Oredo LGA, as directed by the governor. He denied embezzling the funds and reiterated he merely passed on the funds to the Oredo chairman.
Also appearing before the panel which sat at the ward 11 APC office on Upper Uwa was Chief Sunny Erhengbo, the Oredo youth leader, and Lawrence Okah.
On the part of Lawrence Okah, traced his travails to unalloyed loyalty to the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
He alleged the predicament has unwittingly plunged him on the horn of dilemma before the State governor, Godwin Obaseki.
Other members of the panel are Hon. Mathew Ikpomwusa (Secretary), Barr. Mrs F.I Osazee, Chief Joseph Obazee, Dr. Aisosa Amadasun, and Hon. Roland.
