Workers of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) early hours of Monday morning staged a protest against the return of the embattled Director General of the Commission, Mr. Munir Gwarzo.

GWARZO, EMBATTLED SEC DG

Angry staff acting at the behest of a top management staff of the Commission, allegedly shut down the office in Abuja, thereby preventing the return of the reinstated boss of the organization.

Gwarzo had been indicted for abuse of office and corruption by an Administrative Panel of Inquiry set up by the Federal Ministry of Finance headed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Mahmoud Isa-Dutse.

He was also indicted by the House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee, which investigated his suspension by the former Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun.

But, the National Industry Court, last week ordered his reinstatement.

As at the time of filing this report, the presence of armed policemen were visible at the scene.

The whereabouts of Gwarzo could not be ascertained while the protest lasted.
