Multi-billion tourist site that was built by the former Governor of Imo State Rochas Okorocha has become rubbles.

“Akachi tower” sits on an expansive plot of land and reserved for religious purposes, was one of the legacies of Okorocha was built on a reclaimed dump site, but was abandoned by previous administration.

Soldiers prevented journalists in the line of duty from recording the demolition and pushed other Civilians 100 metres away from the site on Friday.

Mr. Emeka Ihedioha who was sworn-in as the sixth governor of the state on Wednesday, ordered the demolition of the monument including the statue of Jacob Zuma, former South Africa’s president on Thursday.

The monument was a massive tower with the symbol of a hand on the Zenith, representing the hand of God.

Nigeria’s Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo commissioned one of the structures at Akachi monument in the twilight of the previous administration.
