Chairman of NISAYA and Acting VP, South-South Zone, Comrade Osemudiamen Ogbidi stated this on Wednesday at a media briefing in Benin City.

He said “Any parent who deliberately deny his/her child education is likely to be referred to as an arch enemy of both his past, present and future”.

The group also issued a 7-day ultimatum to Edo State government to begin the process of bursary payment and address sundry issues as it affects students from poor backgrounds.

According to Ogbidi, indigent students of Oil producing Communities have been denied bursary scheme, scholarship and other grants.

“If these demands are not meant, we shall not hesitate to mobilize over 1.4million Nigerian Students to condemn the poor state of the tertiary institutions”.

He listed the institutions as: College of Education Ekiadolor which the previous administration of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to University of Education, State School of Nursing, Benin City, and College of Agriculture, Iguorakhi in Ovia North East Local Government Area of the State.

He said the resuscitation of the tertiary institutions would make small, media and large scale businesses thrive.

But, the state government had disclosed plans to upgrade some of the institutions.
