Edo State Commissioner for Energy, Oil and Gas, Mr. Joseph Ugheoke and executives of the State Chapter of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigerian (IPMAN) and Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) are in a crucial meeting towards to starve-off potential threats that can lead to scarcity of petroleum products ahead of the Easter Celebrations.

THENEWSPAD reports that the resolution of the meeting is expected to help check sharp practices or sell Premium Motor spirit (PMS) also known as petrol above the pump price of N145/per litre in the State.

The meeting is at the behest of the acting governor of the State, Philip Shaibu in the wake of apprehension over scarcity of petroleum products in the State.

“It has come to the notice of the State Government that Petroleum Marketers are illegally hoarding and diverting Petroleum Products thereby creating unnecessary hiccups and tension in the Sector.

“All petroleum marketers are hereby enjoined to cooperate with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to ensure that petroleum products are promptly distributed”, he said.
