The Director of Atiku/Obi vanguard Support Group in charge of South South, Dr. Hussein Garba, has urged supporters of the 2019 Presidential Candidate PDP across Nigeria not to despair over the resignation of the Director General of Alhaji Atiku Campaign Organization, Mr. Gbenga Daniel.

Daniel’s resignation was contained in a letter he personally signed, dated March 14, this year, and addressed and copied to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus; the chairman, Board of Trustees of the PDP and the Presidential Candidate of the Party, Atiku Abubakar.

Daniel who governed Ogun State between 2003 and 2011, stated in the letter, a copy which was obtained by our Correspondent, that his decision to quit politics remained personal to him.

Garba made the appeal in a press statement issue in Benin, Edo State which was obtained by our Correspondent.

He spoke against the background of anti-democratic forces with Atiku to accept his defeat in good faith and desist from going to the tribunal to challenge the outcome of the February 23, 2019 Presidential elections.

The Director of Atiku/Obi vanguard, urged them to keep hope alive while necessary steps were being taken to redress the electoral injustice perpetuated against the PDP Presidential Candidate during the last Presidential poll.

Dr Garba, who spearheaded the impressive performance of Atiku/Obi in the South- South geo political zone, advised supporters and volunteers well wishers of the party to endeavour to sustain the tempo of their interest in the Atiku/Obi ticket as legal brick bats will soon resume in the tribunal to retrieve his mandate in court.

According to him, Atiku supporters to keep faith in the project to get Nigeria working again.

“Rather, they should be ceaseless in their prayers for a successful tribunal outing, noting that is the best way to keep the struggle alive and intact”, he said.

In particular, he thanked South- South voters for their overwhelming support for the Atiku/Obi ticket, saying they were the true Trojans of democracy having braved all sorts of intimidation and other electoral malfeasance perpetuated by the ruling party to prevent them from exercising their democratic rights.

Garba explained that the entire South South zone stands with the mandate freely given to Atiku and will support every legitimate means to restore the mandate.
