Edo-based activists have threatened to stage another round of protest at the non-functional multi-billion naira Central hospital Complex in Benin City.

Marxist Kola Edokpayi, cited the tepid response to a petition by the Network on Civil society organizations (NOCSON) to the State House of Assembly which pledged to investigate the wrongs and report back to them.

Edokpayi was the Candidate of ADC for Oredo West Constituency in Edo State at the March 9, 2019 governorship/State House of Assembly elections.

In his verifies Facebook page said: “that the hospital should be opened for the public to access” to the hospital which was founded in 1906.

The 120- hospital beds was commissioned for use by President Muhammadu Buhari during the tenure of the else while governor of Edo State, Adams Oshionhole in November 2016, amid funfair.

“We shall be resuming our Operation Open Central Hospital Protest soon since, we are not getting positive result from Edo State House of Assembly”.

Edo people are not fools as to be mute in the midst of what is wrong.

“We demand that the hospital should be opened for the public to access”, he asked.

Recall that the State governor Godwin Obaseki had said his government was consisting a PPP with a private firm to run the facility.

He declaration, followed the alarm raised by the State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, challenging him to show cause on why the hospital was yet to be put to use years after the gigantic edifice was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari.
