Two persons Osarobo Ogiemufia and Albert Omoruyi were killed last Wednesday on 23rd October after a crucial electoral battle for the control of the party in Uromi Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

One of the victims identified as Mr Samson Ojiefulu was allegedly shot dead by unidentified gunmen who invaded his house hours after having a fight with Mr Goodday Akhere at the voting Center in Efadion.

Dead bodies were seen lying on the ground, people screaming, and others walking around dazed, according to witnesses.

In the ensuing melee, police arrested and detained APC Campaign Leader, Mr Godday Akhere speculated to have had a death threat from opposition political party at the grassroots.

Police sources said Goodday Akhere was arrested and kept in protective custody, following a violent protest by angry youths laid the blame on Mr Samson Ojiefulu at voting center they where earlier in the day.

A top police Officer, said, preliminary investigation revealed that two persons have died while the whereabouts of a few others remain unknown.

He clarified however that police were still working through their case load after the attack.

A Community leader who did not want his name to be mentioned in print, told our Correspondent that the case lingered on for a while before the suspect, Mr Godday Akhere charged to court, pending the legal opinion of the Director of Public Prosecution for hearing.

Investigation revealed that, Mr Goodday Akhere heard that his son, Williams Akhere, escaped death and why on his way to to see his son haven left with police men some unknown gunmen attacked and hacked him to death.

In what suggest to be a twist of fate however, a personal Assistant Goodday Akhere simply identified as Frank Oboh hinted Williams Akhere at undisclosed hospital where he was recuperating that his father and her sister had been attacked by hoodlums on their way to see him.

According to Mrs Ugo On I who spoke to newsmen concerning the ugly occurrence said they are still in shock to be informed that Mr Goodday and his Daugherty were no more even as the were about of the son Williams is unknown owning to the fact that from all indications that he is the next for follow the father way.
